Abbie's First Christmas

Abbie had a great first Christmas even if she didn't quite know what was going on all the time :-). She got to celebrate it with most of her family but she did miss Grandma K who was under the weather and couldn't make it over on Christmas. Grandma and Grandpa R came to visit for a week and Abbie enjoyed spending time with them again and thoroughly enjoyed Grandpa R's crazy faces he kept making :-).

Abbie continues to crawl around like crazy and loves standing now. She is getting very good at pulling herself up to standing. She is enjoying playing with the toys she got from Christmas and Mom and Dad are learning the songs from some of them quite well :-). She smiles and babbles quite a bit. Mom keeps saying 'Momma' over and over to her but as Grandpa R says that's all likely in vain as she most likely will say Dada first. She looks very interested in the food that Mom and Dad are eating but hasn't really cared for the Gerber Puffs or little pieces of toast we've given her to try. We'll keep trying it gradually - she'll get the hang of table food eventually. She has two teeth on the bottom still - we keep thinking she's teething but haven't seen any new teeth for a little while.

Below are pictures from Abbie's First Christmas:

Thanks to Mom's cousins Melissa and Alison for this outfit:

This was the first gift we gave her on Sun. Dec. 23rd. She burst into tears when Mom tried to take the package away to open it :-):

Pictures with Santa

We took Abbie to see Santa on Saturday 12/15/07. She did very well and smiled nicely for us while sitting on Santa's lap. Here are some pictures of her with Santa and of her while we were in line:

Update - 12/08/07

I'm happy to report that Abbie and parents are feeling much better now. Abbie has a second tooth coming in on the bottom. According to her father, Abbie doesn't need any Christmas gifts because she told him that all she wanted for Christmas was her two front teeth - Grandpa Tony should love that groaner of a joke :-). Abbie continues to love to explore as she crawls around. There was a video posted this morning of her figuring out how to get up the little step between the family room and kitchen. She likes to crawl under her exersaucer but then can't quite figure out how to get back out. On Thursday, she pulled herself up to standing for the first time - using the exersaucer to do so. Mom put up the Christmas Tree in the living room and there are 8 ornaments for Abbie on the tree - most say Baby's First Christmas. Here are some recent pictures:

She didn't drink any of it :-) :

Video - Abbie's Latest Trick

Our kitchen opens up into our Family Room and there's a small step down from the kitchen to the family room. We have Abbie in the family room a lot and in the last week or so she's taken to crawling over to the little step up to the kitchen. She would work at getting herself up that 'step' and into the kitchen but couldn't quite get her feet over - that is until Wednesday morning when she figured it out. Here's a video of her 'latest trick':

Thanksgiving Trip

We headed to Ohio to visit with Grandma and Grandpa R for Thanksgiving. Abbie did very well with the traveling and seemed to enjoy her time with Grandma and Grandpa R and enjoyed seeing Mom's relatives on Turkey Day. Abbie enjoyed having all sorts of new areas to explore at Grandma and Grandpa R's house - she really wanted to get under their coffee tables. She impressed with her great crawling prowess :-). I'm sorry there haven't been many updates lately but all three of us have been sick.
