Update and Pictures 08/28/09-09/12/09

Abbie very much enjoyed a recent visit by Grandma and Grandpa R. They had a lot of fun together and took advantage of the recent nice weather to make a lot of trips to the park. Abbie has inherited her Mom's love of Target :-) and enjoys walking by the new store near the house and the occasional trip there to enjoy a soft pretzel and people watch of course. Mom is in trouble as she already goes to Target too much even without Abbie's encouragement :-). Abbie's language explosion is continuing and she continues to amaze Mom and Dad with how much she understands what's going on. It is interesting that she talks a ton at home but is super quiet at daycare (she attends three days a week). She loves singing - Wheels on the Bus and If You're Happy and You Know It are her current favorites. She loves to read books which makes Mom (an avid reader) very happy. Mom isn't looking forward to the cooler weather as Abbie loves the outdoors and we'll probably both go a little stir crazy. It could get a little expensive too with trips to the mall when it's too cold to go outside :-). She loves looking at pictures on the screensaver of Mom's laptop yet doesn't want to have her picture taken a lot of the time pointing to the camera and saying 'Away'.

Some new things she's doing recently are scooting down the steps - thanks for teaching her that Grandpa Tony :-). She'll try to talk Mom into doing it also by saying 'Sit Down' and is proud of herself for making it all the way down the steps by herself. She also has recently counted from one to ten - once for Grandpa Tony and once for Mom but of course refuses to do this on demand :-).
